Physical tests
Measure heights, jumps and body composition with standard protocols: the staff records the sessions, the app computes the derived values and every athlete follows their own progress.
Physical tests let the staff take a snapshot of the team's condition at regular intervals: you create a test session (as many as you like, there's no limit), enter each athlete's measurements and the app does the rest — it computes the jump metrics, keeps the history and draws the progress charts. The section lives in More → Physical tests for authorized staff, while each athlete finds their own tests in their player profile.
The measurements
There are seven manual measurements, with the measuring protocol always at hand in the app (ⓘ button next to each field). Sticking to the same protocol is what makes comparisons over time reliable:
| Measurement | Unit | Protocol |
|---|---|---|
| Height | cm | With shoes on |
| Weight | kg | Without shoes |
| Reach 1 | cm | Dominant-hand side against the wall: raise one arm and measure the highest point reached |
| Reach 2 | cm | Chest against the wall: raise both arms and measure the highest point reached |
| Sit & Reach | cm | Seated, distance between fingertips and toes (can be negative) |
| Vertec | cm | Approach jump: after a few practice jumps, run up and touch at the highest point |
| Block | cm | Standing jump: after a few practice jumps, load the knees and jump with both hands |
Derived values: the app computes them
From the measurements you enter, the app works out the numbers that really matter — no calculator needed:
| Derived value | What it is | Formula |
|---|---|---|
| BMI | Body mass index | weight / height² |
| ECR | Approach jump elevation | Vertec − Reach 1 |
| ESR | Standing jump elevation | Block − Reach 2 |
| DdE | Elevation delta | ECR − ESR |
| %MG | Body fat | From the scale, or estimated by the app |
| %MM | Muscle mass | From the scale, or estimated by the app |
For the staff: recording a session
- Open More → Physical tests and create a new session with the test date.
- Go through the athletes and enter the measurements: only the ones you actually took — empty fields simply stay empty.
- The derived values (BMI, ECR, ESR, DdE) appear on their own as you type.
Body composition: from the scale or estimated
For %MG (body fat) and %MM (muscle mass) you have two options:
- Manual entry — copy the values from a body-composition scale.
- App estimate — no scale around? The app estimates the values with scientific formulas: Deurenberg for body fat (with a dedicated variant for under-15 athletes) and Lee for muscle mass, using the weight, height, age and sex from the player profile.
The team view
The main Physical tests screen is a sortable table of the whole team: for each athlete, the latest measurement and the delta against the previous one, with ▲▼ arrows — for jump metrics an increase shows in green, a drop in red. You can filter by position (say, middle blockers only) and sort by any column: one tap and you see who jumps highest or who has improved the most.
Tapping an athlete opens their trend: every session in chronological order and a chart for each metric over time. From the web app you can also export everything to CSV to work on it in Excel.
For athletes: your progress
Open your player profile (in Team it's the one with the green "It's you" badge): the Physical tests section shows your values with progress versus the previous test and versus your first measurement, plus charts of how you're trending over time. If the staff hasn't recorded anything yet, the section says so: everything appears after the first session.
Who can use physical tests
Entering measurements and the team view are reserved to whoever is enabled for the Physical tests function in the team permissions: the founding coach decides whether to open it to the whole staff, to specific roles or to individual people. The physiotherapist and authorized staff also find the test history in the Athlete file, read-only.
