What's new
Everything new in Volley Control Center, update after update.
Version 2.1.2 — rolling out
September 3, 2026 · iOS and Android (already live on the web app)
- Physiotherapy for coach and staff: besides athletes, the coach and staff members now see the physio's free slots and can book, cancel and swap sessions; a Coach or Staff label appears next to their name, in the treatments filter too.
- Documents: General Archive now comes before Match Documents and opens by default; on Android the two sections take the same names as on iPhone.
- Small fixes.
Documents — General archive comes first
September 3, 2026 · web app (coming to iPhone and Android with the next update)
- Section order: opening Documents you now find General Archive first and Match Documents second, with the Archive open by default; on Android the two sections take the same names as on iPhone.
Physiotherapy — coach and staff can book too
September 3, 2026 · web app (coming to iPhone and Android with the next update)
- Book a session for everyone: besides athletes, the coach and staff members now see the physio's free slots and can book, cancel and swap appointments; "My sessions" works for them too.
- Coach / Staff label: in the physio's agenda, in the slots and in the treatments, the booker's name carries the role label when it isn't an athlete; the treatments filter also lists staff members.
Version 2.1.1
September 2, 2026 · iOS and Android (editor and notification changes were already live on the web app)
- Editing timeline on iPhone and Android too: in the export editor, clips are blocks with their frames, trim handles, drag-to-reorder, playhead and zoom, like in iMovie and CapCut.
- Transitions between clips: tap the marker between two blocks and pick the crossfade (none, 0.4, 0.8 or 1.2 s); it already shows in the preview.
- Reel "Follow the ball": in 9:16 format the vertical framing follows the ball automatically, computed by our servers in a few seconds and visible right away in the preview; enable it for one clip or for all of them.
- Save to Photos (iPhone): exports save straight to your Photos library, or you can share them. On Android the Video section now has the Video | Playlists selector with the filters below it and "My exports" to download your edits.
- Notifications: the new Essential / All policy (polls, assigned weight plans and physio among the essential ones; new notifications for documents and attachments) now comes with the settings screen listing what each level includes on iPhone and Android too.
- Security and stability: better-protected session on the device, logout that really ends the session, lighter memory use when uploading videos, various fixes.
Notifications — new Essential / All policy
September 2, 2026 · live now on iOS, Android and the web app (the settings screen with the full list comes to iPhone and Android with the next update)
- Polls: when a poll is created (lineup, activity, jersey numbers) its audience is notified right away, and it counts as essential.
- Essential now also includes weight plan assignments, physio bookings and swaps, shared playlists and ready exports.
- New notifications for a new team document and for a new attachment on an event (with the "All" level).
- Settings → Push notifications: under "Essential" and "All" you now see the full list of what each level includes.
Web app — editing timeline for exports
September 2, 2026 · web app (coming to iOS and Android with the next update)
- iMovie/CapCut-style timeline: in the export editor, clips are proportional blocks with their frames, yellow trim handles, drag-to-reorder, a playhead that follows playback, and zoom.
- Transitions between clips: the marker between two blocks picks the crossfade (none, 0.4, 0.8 or 1.2 s); blocks overlap like in Final Cut, the total duration accounts for it, and the crossfade already shows in the preview.
- Reel "Follow the ball": in 9:16 format, one button makes the vertical framing follow the ball automatically. Our servers compute the framing in a few seconds and you see it move right away in the preview, identical to the final export; enable it for one clip or for all of them at once, or drag the framing of each clip yourself.
- Cleaner summary: edit duration and plan limit at a glance.
Version 2.1
September 1, 2026 · iOS and Android (web app already updated)
- Video playlists: every action in your videos has a playlist icon — collect actions even from different matches and replay them in sequence as an "ideal match", with the same filters as a real match.
- Sharing and chat: coaches and staff share playlists with individual athletes, court roles or staff members; every shared playlist has a chat, and a message can reference a single action (long-press on its row).
- On-video annotations: coaches draw on a paused frame with pen, texts and flags; and with "Track set" the AI traces the ball trajectory from the setter's touch to the attacker's contact, with a flag on the contact point.
- Export edits: from a playlist, create a video in Classic 16:9 or Reel 9:16 (with adjustable framing per clip), with clip trimming, reordering and automatic crossfades; we notify you by push and email when it's ready — downloadable for 7 days.
- Athlete stats: the photo on the stats page is now an automatically cut-out "trading card", and the page is easier to read (jersey numbers on action rows, counters never covered).
- Polish: editing an event on iOS now opens in a full-height sheet; fixes to the attendance counter and texts.
Version 2.0.3
August 29, 2026 · iOS and Android
- Complete attendance: on the Attendance page pick the event from a date-ordered list (today and upcoming first, then past ones) and mark attendance; on iOS you can now mark it from the event detail too, and Android gets the full page that previously only had the report.
- Measurement explanations: in physical tests, tap a measurement to learn what it is and how it's measured — Reach 1 with one hand, Reach 2 with two, plus the jump formulas.
- Team comparison: on each athlete's file, their measurements against the team average, with clear bars.
- Polish: player card with buttons in order (Full stats, Physical tests and Weight plans, then Edit and Delete), measurement tiles all the same size, Android dashboard aligned with iOS.
Version 2.0.2
August 28, 2026 · iOS, Android and web app (already live on the web app)
- All measurements: every physical test metric now shows its exact value with unit and progress — Vertec and Block included — both for athletes on their own tests and for the staff on each athlete's file.
- Reorganized athlete card: two dedicated sections, Physical tests and Game stats.
- Quick access for the staff: from each player card the Physical tests and Weight plans buttons open the athlete file right away; the dedicated entry in the More menu is no longer needed.
- Web app: event attachments with their real title in lists and on the dashboard, plus the same measurements grid on the tests pages.
Version 2.0.1
August 26, 2026 · iOS and Android
- Daily motivational quote: 366 authentic quotes from great champions, coaches and thinkers — from Michael Jordan to Seneca, from Julio Velasco to Marie Curie — one for every day of the year, the same for every user in the world, on iOS and Android.
- Profile button on the dashboard: next to the notifications bell, one tap opens your personal card with physical tests, stats and progress.
- Notifications in a quick panel (Android): the list slides up from the bottom and closing it leaves you right where you were, just like iOS.
- Events in sections (Android): Today, This week and Upcoming, with past events available at the bottom — just like iOS.
- Icons and player card aligned (Android): menu icons matching iOS, Edit and Delete buttons side by side, point distribution always visible even at zero.
Version 2.0
August 24, 2026 · iOS, Android and web app (already live on the web app)
- Physical tests: the staff records measurement sessions with standard protocols — height, weight, Reach 1 and 2, Sit & Reach, Vertec and Block — and the app computes BMI and jump elevations (ECR, ESR, DdE) on its own. Body composition can be entered from a scale or estimated by the app with scientific formulas. Sortable team view with ▲▼ deltas, position filter, trend charts and CSV export from the web; every athlete sees their own tests and progress in their profile. Full guide: Physical tests.
- Weight training plans: the staff builds gym plans with a 4-step builder — details and validity, assignees (by role or person), exercises from a reusable library with photos and videos, A1/A2 supersets, and a preview exactly as the athlete will see it. Before a plan expires you get a notice with quick extension, and Duplicate lets you reuse plans month after month. Full guide: Weight training plans.
- Gym tab for athletes: a fifth tab with the dumbbell icon, athletes only — their own plan with a "done" checkmark per exercise, the session progress ring, logged kg with "last time" and the load chart over time, plus exercise videos.
- Athlete file: a new page for the physiotherapist (and authorized staff) with each athlete's full physical test history and training plans — latest loads and checkmarks included — all read-only. Guide: Physiotherapy.
- Custom permissions: the founding coach decides who can use each of the 9 features (events, documents, videos, scouting, attendance, roster, polls, training plans, physical tests) — everyone, staff only, specific roles including court positions, or individual people. It replaces the old 6 staff switches, with automatic migration. Guide: Invites and members.
- Sex field at sign-up: the player profile now includes sex (M/F), used only for body composition estimates in mixed teams.
- Fully translated in all 9 languages, on iOS, Android and the web app.
Version 1.5.1
August 21, 2026 · iOS and Android (already live on the web app)
- Event attachments with titles: when you attach a document to an event you pick its title (pre-filled from the file name) and can rename it anytime with the pencil next to the attachment. Event screens now show the real title instead of a generic label.
- Refreshed staff cards: every staff member can have a photo or a chosen icon (whistle, tactics board, medical kit...) in the circle above their name; the edit form has been cleaned up, with a confirmation before deletion.
- Staff sorted by hierarchy: head coach, assistants, managers, athletic trainer, physiotherapist, scoutman and other roles, in that order across all lists.
- Completed translations and various technical improvements.
Version 1.5
August 20, 2026 · iOS, Android and web app
- Welcome path for coaches (iOS and Android): on your first login a carousel welcomes you and the dashboard shows a "First steps" checklist — team logo, invite your members, first event or calendar import, first document, first video... Items tick themselves off as you get things done, each one opens the right screen directly, and confetti celebrates when you finish. You can hide it if you prefer.
- 7 new languages: German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil) and Serbian — 9 in total with Italian and English. The whole app is fully translated on iOS, Android and the web app; switch language from Settings and it applies instantly.
- Multiple documents per event: you can now attach several documents to the same event (previously a single PDF); adding or removing one always asks for confirmation. Anyone still on version 1.4 keeps seeing the first attachment.
- Documents from mobile: upload a new document straight from iOS and Android (previously web only). On iOS there's also "Share with VCC": from any app (Mail, WhatsApp, Files...) share a PDF, image or document to VCC and choose whether to store it in Documents or attach it to an event.
- New user approval (iOS and Android): after "Create card" or "Link to existing card" the player or staff card you just created or linked opens right away; "Approve only" and the other actions ask for explicit confirmation.
- Simpler sign-up: nationality and app language are the first two fields; picking your country pre-selects the obvious language and the whole screen switches language instantly, without losing what you already typed.
- "It's you" badge: the card linked to your account shows a green badge on the roster and detail pages; whoever creates the team automatically gets their "Head coach" staff card linked to their account.
- Club plan: the staff limit per team goes up from 6 to 8 members.
- Athlete card: Edit and Delete buttons now sit side by side.
- Web app (already live): the event detail now opens read-only with an explicit Edit button and asks for confirmation on saves and attachments; fixed the "This content is blocked" message when opening PDFs.
Version 1.4
4 August 2026 · iOS and Android
- Events: redesigned cards with a date box colored by type (weekday, number and month), a type tag with the time next to it, a venue tag that opens maps directly, and quick access to the attached PDF. Refreshed weekly calendar with a flame on busy days.
- Phone calendar import: times are finally exact even for events with an end time (e.g. 19:00-22:30); on iOS the app remembers what you already imported, asks before re-importing and replaces previous copies instead of duplicating them.
- Request approval: if someone signed up with the wrong role (athlete instead of staff or vice versa), you can now approve them directly with the correct role, with the usual create card / link / approve-only options.
Version 1.3
August 3, 2026 · iOS, Android and web app
- Physiotherapy: new section for sessions with the team physio. The physiotherapist sets days, hours and session length; athletes book free slots with a reason (visible to staff only), can cancel and propose slot swaps with teammates. Automatic or manual approval, agenda with booking/cancellation trail, weekly/monthly calendar and per-athlete treatment history confirmed by the physio. Full guide: Physiotherapy.
- Team: on player and staff cards, the "Active" and "Linked/Not linked profile" labels are now tappable and explain what they mean.
- Video (beta, iOS first): serve speed overlaid on clips verified by the analysis model; tap the value to report a wrong estimate.
Version 1.2
July 28–29, 2026 · iOS, Android and web app
Web app
- More powerful video filters: the filter bar now accepts several tags of the same category (e.g. Serve + Attack) and they add up; new Start/Landing zone categories, results consistent with the selected skills.
- Action time and full rally on the web too: before/after presets and an "Rally" button to replay the whole exchange.
- Press recap from the web box score, plus competition/phase filters in the video list.
Video analysis
- "Rallies" view: besides single touches, every rally can be replayed in full with score, duration and touch count; auto-sequence advances rally by rally.
- Fully redesigned filters: live counter of matching touches, results that depend on the selected skill, compact player grid, volleyball court with zones 1-6 (the middle band selects the in-between zones), Set and Phase in dedicated cards.
- Multiple selections: in every filter field you can pick several options together and they add up — e.g. Serve + Attack + Block, Set 1 + 2, Side-out + Break point, several players or zones.
- Action time: choose how many seconds to watch before and after each touch (or the whole rally).
- Renewed video list: real match preview, teams highlighted with two colored labels, filters by competition and phase.
Scout Live
- Press recap: from the box score, generate a ready-to-share text with the result, set scores, each player's points next to their surname, referees, set durations and aces/blocks/missed serves. You can edit it before sharing.
- Box score PDF with your team logo and without signature lines.
- A finished match now opens the box score directly, and back returns to the match list.
Team
- Staff page: tapping a staff member opens a detail page like athletes, with role, birth date and linked account; edits go through the Edit button.
